Utilitiz / Obsidian

Sound, film and colour for your notes.

Free, open-source plugins for Obsidian, and a theme that glows with what you are hearing. Find them in Obsidian under Settings → Community plugins → Browse.

Better together

Each one works on its own. Install a few and they start to cooperate.

◐

The theme follows the music

With Static Aurora installed, pressing play in Static FM, Aurora MP3 or Hi-Fi Tuner fades the theme's glows to match: your noise colours, the album cover, or the globe's colour way. Pause and the colours stay.

⇄

One player at a time

Start one player and the others pause, so you never get two soundtracks at once. Each has a "Play alongside other players" setting if you'd like to mix noise with music.

◎

Quiet by design

No telemetry, no accounts. Noise and ambience are generated on your computer. The radio and film players only talk to the stations and archives you choose.

Obsidian plugins

All free and open source (MIT), desktop only. Find them in Obsidian under Settings → Community plugins → Browse.

Obsidian with the Static Aurora theme

Warm dark glass over drifting glows

Near-black frosted panels, cream text and amber accents, with soft rose, ember and violet light moving slowly behind everything. Play something in one of the plugins above and the glows take on its colours.

With Style Settings you can stop the drift, set the glow strength, and pick an amber, rose or sea accent.

Light mode
Light mode is something different: a Windows 2000 classic look with silver panels, Tahoma and navy title bars.
